Welcome to the home of Sherwood Park's Music First DJ Services.  On this site we hope to share some information with you, to let you know why we are the best choice to provide music for your Wedding, or Corporate party.  Please read on, and if you have any questions, feel free to contact us using the form on the "Contact Us" page. We check our messages every day, and will get back to you within 2 business days, usually the same day!

Better Music.

We have signed on with one of Canada's largest DJ music services and have access to a library of over 100,000 songs!  In addition to our huge library, we also bring a fully redundant sound system with us!  We bring 2 computers with the music loaded, 2 amplifiers (600W each), and 2 sets of speakers, just to guarantee that even if we have a failure (this has never happened yet), we can keep the music playing, with minimal interruption.  We are designing our very own electronic request system – you will have access to look at the titles in our library, and request any song electronically from a terminal at our table.  If a song does not show up in the request database, it simply indicates that we have not yet downloaded it from our supplier, but we have remote access, and will be able to download many songs that we don’t list.  All of our music is ALVA licensed, and of the highest quality.

Better Sound.

We, at Music First, love music.  That requires that we use the very best in sound reproduction equipment so that you will hear the music the way it is meant to be heard.  To that end, we did some research - lots of research actually - and came up with what we feel are the best sounding DJ speakers available.  We use only professional grade music speakers, not the typical PA grade speakers used by many mobile DJ services.  We also have a full range spectrum analyzer, and equalizer in our music stack to custom tailor the sound to the room that we are performing in.  We truly want to give you the best sound possible so your guests will have a time to remember.

Further to this, we have talked to many of our clients and other guests at weddings that we have had the privilege to attend. It seems that many DJs try to make up for having second rate systems, by playing the music at higher volumes.  Lets face it, a wedding is a party, a dance, and also a time for family and friends that have not seen each other for some time to visit.  While our system is more than capable of filling almost any venue with LOUD music, we try to keep it a level that is great for dancing, but will also let your guests visit.  We have been thanked for this at almost every wedding that we have performed at!

Update:

We went and did it again!  We have upgraded our sound system, to ensure that you will get the best in music reproduction at your event.  We now will arrive with two sets of 15" PROFESSIONAL music grade speakers, AND two 18" subwoofers.  To power all of this we also bring 2 amplifiers, each capable of driving over 700 watts of music power.  While this may all say LOUD to some people, please note that we will adjust the v0lume to your liking, and that a big sound system being driven at lower power levels will allways SOUND BETTER than a smaller system being driven harder.  Pictures of our new setup will be posted shortly.

Better Party.

To this end, we are always improving our lighting and video equipment.  Currently, we have LED lighting for setting he mood on the dance floor and a mirror ball with 2 spot lights.  We also have a low lying fog machine, using commercial grade, water based fog that is almost odorless, and is hypoallergenic.  We have also added a super bright (4200 ANSI Lumens) projector available for rent with our packages!  This projector will create bright, clear displays in excess of 300".
